About the project

Essilor USA is a subsidiary of the French-based EssilorLuxottica, an international eyewear and ophthalmic optics company that designs, manufactures and markets lenses to correct or protect eyesight.


Client location:

Dallas, Texas, U.S.

TBA designed the UX and developed the code for the iPad app. The app is used in the US by eyecare professionals to help customers select from a variety of Essilor lenses.

The TBA team developed the concepts for the side-by-side comparison simulations for the different types of lenses vs. generic lenses. The environments were modelled in a game engine environment (Unity®) making the demo interactive with real-time lens effects for the simulation.

Big ideas

The skill of the twenty-first century could be said to be the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn. Unlearning is required when the conversations we revert to no longer work, or the world has changed so completely that they are now holding us back.
